High-Dose Vitamin C Therapy

CitrusHigh-dose Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant and free radical scavenger supporting cellular and vascular health. It is essential for the formation and maintenance of intercellular ground substance and collagen, which are important for better skin and joint health.

Vitamin C has been reported to promote nitric oxide activity and  to help maintain healthy platelet function. It supports the body’s defense system by enhancing  white blood cell function and activity, and increasing interferon levels, antibody responses and secretion  of thymic hormone. Vitamin C also aids in the absorption of iron and the formation of red blood cells and converts folic acid to its active forms.

It being a very potent antioxidant, higher doses of Vitamin C may provide protection against oxidative stress.  At higher doses, administered via intravenous infusion, Vitamin C can achieve higher levels in the blood than when it is taken by mouth.

Who can benefit from High-dose Vitamin C?

*Individuals with weakened immune system because of acute or chronic disease desiring a big boost to their immune system

*Those who are working and constantly exposed to high level of stress (mentally and physically), and other environmental toxins

*Those individuals who are presently undergoing medical procedures and treatments that may weaken the immune system

*Those individuals who are in need of a boost in their defense system to prepare for forthcoming stressful conditions

*Those individuals who would like to achieve and maintain better, healthy looking skin

Interesting note :

High dose Vitamin C has been studied as a treatment for cancer since the 1970s.  A Scottish surgeon Dr. Ewan Cameron worked with Nobel Prize-winning chemist Linus Pauling to study the possible benefits of Vitamin C in clinical trials of cancer patients in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

IV Vitamin C was studied in patients with breast cancer who were treated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.  The study found that patients who received IV Vitamin C had better quality of life and fewer side effects than those who did not.
